Value and importance of legal support staff is undeniable and this support system is the one that keeps a law firm moving efficiently. The secret to getting on the good side of a lawyer is to befriend their clients, law clerks or, preferably, both. Most successful lawyers within the firm had worked with their legal support staff for many years. Our law firm has a very different model when it comes to legal support staff. Here we have developed a system to have legal support staff to support a larger and larger pool of clients – in some instances tasks were exported from the lawyer’s office entirely to a support staff, which provides legal assistance with support and legal advice. The idea that we work on here in our firm is the one that provides legal assistance and also has a legal support staff and both work as a team or unit to provide services together that goes hand in hand.
