Magistrate’s Compassionate Approach Results in Dowry Case Dismissal

JFCM Judge personally meets frail couple outside courtroom in Bodhan, dismisses case after assessing their condition

NIZAMABAD: In a heartfelt display of compassion, a magistrate from the Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JFCM) Court in Bodhan departed from standard courtroom protocol to offer relief to an elderly couple involved in a dowry harassment case.

Sayamma and Gangaram, residents of Raykur village in Rudrur mandal, had been consistently attending court hearings initiated by their daughter-in-law. Despite their advanced age, they remained committed to following due legal procedures.

On Monday, the couple arrived at the court in an auto-rickshaw but were too frail to walk to the courtroom. Upon learning of their condition, JFCM Magistrate E Sai Shiva stepped down from the bench and personally came outside to meet them.

In an unusual and deeply moving gesture, the magistrate heard both parties on the spot, assessed the facts, and concluded that the elderly couple had committed no wrongdoing. He then proceeded to dismiss the case.

The act of compassion, observed by many within the court premises, earned widespread praise for the magistrate’s empathy and humane approach. The elderly couple, visibly overwhelmed, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unexpected display of kindness.
